When it comes to the world of celebrity watches, it’s fascinating to realise that top watch brands promote their brand by “partnering” with famous celebs. Whether the average man decides to purchase an Omega watch simply because George Clooney wears one, or a TAG Heuer because Leonardo DiCarprio loves the brand, is hard to tell. One would have thought that the final decision would be made more on looks and technical specifications!
But regardless of how much celebrity endorsements influence sales, let’s see who’s wearing what in the world of male celebrity watches.
Tom Cruise is often seen sporting a Bremont ALT-1C from the British brand founded by 2 former aircraft designers. The watch is designed to resemble traditional instruments of an aircraft, which may well be why Cruise, as a pilot himself, is drawn to this brand. He’s also a fan of the Royal Oak Offshore GP Singapur from Aduemars Piguet which has a bold red dial – definitely a statement piece.
John Travolta is another pilot who appears to choose his watch to reflect his passion for flying. He has been a brand ambassador for Breitling aviator watches since 2001 and his love of this brand still persists.

However in 2017 it was time to change ship, and he became a global ambassador of Tudor, attracted as he stated, by “the history of the brand: one of adventure, pioneer diving and daring expeditions. I was instantly hooked.”
Tiger Woods could be perceived as a little fickle when it comes to his watch brand ambassador status. Originally he partnered with Tudor who created the Tudor Tiger Prince in his honour. Then he switched to TAG Heuer, and nowadays, he has sponsorship from Rolex and is seen sporting a Rolex Sea-Dweller.
Leonardo DiCarpio has been an ambassador of TAG Heuer since 2009, and is often seen wearing the Tag Heuer Carerra Chronograph. He is a huge supporter of the environmental efforts made by Tag Heuer to reduce their carbon footprint, and was involved in a co-design project of the Aquaracer 500M as an initiative to raise money for the Natural Resources Defense Council and Green Cross International.
